After his legal education Mr. Müller-Gatermann started his career in the tax administration of Rhineland-Palatinate in 1974 before joining the Federal Ministry of Finance in 1981. In the Ministry, he started working in various divisions responsible for corporate and income tax. Later on he was responsible for the relationship between the MoF and Parliament/ Cabinet and afterwards he headed the division for corporate tax law, trade tax and mergers and acquisitions.
Having headed several directorates in the tax department and the directorate for education and training, compliance, data protection and supervision of the Federal Training Academy, Mr. Müller-Gatermann took over the General Directorate for international taxation, representing Germany in the CFA Bureau of the OECD, in high level meetings in the European Union and in the Executive Council of IOTA. Since 2012 Mr. Müller-Gatermann is Partner of Counsel in the WTS, Munich. He has his office in Cologne.
