Marcus Hornig

As a Director at the Düsseldorf office of WTS, I am responsible for the Private Clients/Sports division since 2015. My main areas of expertise include advising board members and managing directors on tax disputes, criminal tax law, and the implementation of tax-related internal control systems. A particular focus is on the area of professional soccer. Prior to that, at WTS, I assisted in internal criminal tax law and special tax investigations at DAX and M-DAX corporations in the area of corruption. Prior to joining WTS, I worked in various tax boutiques for high net worth individuals (including professional athletes) and their domestic and foreign entrepreneurial holdings as well as for the management of Hungarian and Japanese trading houses with their German subsidiaries or permanent establishments. Since 2005, I am publishing as a tax expert for the business magazines IMPULSE, manager magazin, Wirtschaftswoche and Capital. Until 2012, I was a tax columnist for the Financial Times Deutschland.
