Responsibility for our ecosystem

The WTS Group is actively committed to the preservation and protection of our environment. In doing so, we rely on cooperation with successful non-profit environmental organisations on the one hand, and have taken our own initiatives to reduce the direct and indirect effects of our business activities on the environment on the other.

We attach particular importance to promoting environmental awareness among our employees.

WTS Sustainability Fund: Projects 2020

Through its sustainability fund, WTS Group annually allocates 10 percent of its dividend to projects that are committed to sustainable development. The fund is supervised by the WTS Sustainability Advisory Board. In 2020, we donated a total of 35,000 Euros to the following projects:

Querwaldein e.V. Köln
LIFE e.V. Berlin
Transition Town e.V. Frankfurt
Mallewup e.V. Krefeld
Projekt Anziehend Ökoprojekt Mobilspiel e.V. Muc
Green City e.V. München

Employee responsibility

We can achieve a lot together

We take our ecological responsibility very seriously. Only by living sustainably together can we make a difference and contribute to a "sustainable" future. We have, therefore, taken a number of initiatives to reduce the direct and indirect environmental impact of our business activities.

As a consulting firm, we have two main levers for improving our environmental impact: mobility and building management.

Travel on business

As consultants, our clients are always the focus of our work. In doing so, we focus on partnership relations, whereby personal contact is essential. In this respect, it is all the more important to make our business trips as environmentally conscious as possible. Our goal is to replace as many domestic flights as possible with train journeys by 2020. Wherever possible, we will avoid travel altogether and use web and video conferences.

Climate-friendly way to work

We support our employees in making their daily commute to work as climate-friendly as possible. In addition to subsidizing public transport tickets and a company car policy that supports the selection of low-emission vehicles, the WTS Group has been offering JobBikes since January 2020.

Waste, paper, plastic & water

As a consulting firm, relatively little waste is generated in the course of our work. First and foremost, paper and residual waste is generated, which we carefully separate and thus, enable either further recycling or disposal according to type.

WTS Group also spends comparatively little water due to the nature of the industry. Moreover, every employee is required to use water - as well as electricity and paper - responsibly. We also raise awareness for conscious heating and ventilation and make our employees aware of the positive environmental effects. Numerous digitization projects aim to reduce our paper consumption even further.

At WTS, we avoid the use of plastic whenever possible. For example, we do not order drinks in plastic bottles.

Green electricity

It is our goal to purchase 100% green electricity at our locations throughout Germany by the end of 2020. This will enable us to save considerable amounts of CO2 emissions.
