Quality, Process and Risk Management at WTS Austria

Top quality - the WTS mission statement sets out our quality standards, both in terms of our own services and those of our global network partners. Through our WTS Global network we have a globally established quality management system and team. Each global network partner must meet the following minimum standards:

  • No advisory services without a mandate - clearly defined services, remuneration and liability
  • One face to the customer - clearly designated contact persons and central contacts
  • (Initial) response within 24 hours
  • Reliable deadline monitoring
  • Uniform presentation/structuring of work results
  • Dual control and clear signature regulation
  • Clear rules for documenting and archiving files and handling original documents
  • Sufficient employee training and development opportunities
  • Uniform corporate identity
  • Careful selection and monitoring of local network partners

Our quality management pursues four central goals:

  • Increase client satisfaction
  • Increase employee satisfaction
  • Minimise risk/compliance
  • Increase efficiency/profitability

We focus on secure, efficient processes and their continual development.

Professional standards set the framework for quality management

As a leading tax consultancy in Austria, we are subject to strict professional requirements, which are regulated under the 2017 Austrian Professional Accountants and Tax Advisors' Act (WTBG 2017). These range from general diligence and training requirements to avoiding conflicts of interest. The key obligations that apply to all tax advisers include independence, responsibility, diligence and confidentiality.

Due to the requirements of the Money Laundering Directive, we must also meet increased compliance requirements ("know your customer principle") to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. For this purpose, we have taken internal organisational measures and created a 14-page in-house guideline.

Quality, Process und Risk Management in Austria

Just like all other members of the global WTS network, WTS Austria regularly undergoes a quality review. This is performed by the global Quality, Process and Risk Management team in accordance with pre-defined, strict criteria and structures and alongside the requirements under professional law. In doing so, potential for improvement is identified and, if necessary, a timetable for resolving open issues or implementing optimisation measures is defined.
