Christian Schiessl (42), partner at WTS Germany, has been appointed as new Co-Head for the Global Service Line (GSL) International Corporate Tax. Together with his partner colleagues, Ivo Kuipers (Atlas Fiscalisten, WTS Global in the Netherlands) and Matthias Mitterlehner (ICON, WTS Global in Austria) who are co-heading the department since 2020, the leadership trio is tasked to set the strategic agenda and further drive cross-border co-operation within the international expert group.
All three Co-Heads are set out to build a truly integrated, technically top-notch International Corporate Tax Department which serves as a long-term trusted advisor for its multinational clients in all areas of International Corporate Tax.
Christian Schiessl joined WTS Germany in July 2022. He covers the whole spectrum of Corporate Tax with focus on international tax law. His specific areas of expertise encompasses advisory on the implementation of Pillar Two, International Tax as well as M&A Tax. His clients are German based multinationals.
In his role as new Co-Head of the International Corporate Tax Service Line at WTS Global he succeeds Dr. Gabriele Rautenstrauch, International Corporate tax partner at WTS Germany, who has set up the Global Service Line jointly with the above mentioned Co-Heads, Ivo Kuipers and Matthias Mitterlehner. She largely contributed to the establishment of a market leading Pillar Two International expert group, which provides tax advisory, tax accounting and tax digital solutions to multinational clients inside and outside of Germany from one source.
I am proud and delighted to be taking over as Co-Head for the global service line ICT from Gabi, who has made significant contributions to the development of this group in the past!
Together with Matthias, Ivo, and the GSL team, I will be focusing on our global collaboration, knowledge exchange, and addressing together with WTS Global key topics to our global clients. Given the developments in international tax law, such as with Pillar Two and Pillar One, the international tax law offers unprecedented opportunities for our WTS Global organization.
The Global Service Line International Corporate Tax consists of more than 90 highly experienced key partners - not including the attached local teams - from member firms across the world.
Under the leadership of Magdalena Saja, Managing Director (Business Development) at WTS Global since 2023, the altogether 8 Global Service Lines have been reorganized and boosted as highly knowledgeable and efficient expert groups which function as the spearheads towards the clients.
With representation in over 100 countries, WTS Global has already grown to a leadership position as a global tax practice offering the full range of tax services and aspires to become the preeminent non-audit tax practice worldwide. Clients of WTS Global include multinational companies, international mid-size companies as well as private clients and family offices.
The member firms of WTS Global are carefully selected through stringent quality reviews. They are strong local players in their home market who are united by the ambition of building a truly global practice that develops the tax leaders of the future and anticipates the new digital tax world.
