WTS increases revenue to EUR 254 million and further expands key business areas

WTS, a full-service provider of tax and complementary financial advisory services, achieved group revenue of EUR 254 million in the 2024/25 financial year, exceeding the quarter-billion-euro mark for the first time. With its new strategic partnership with EQT, WTS is setting the course for targeted expansion in other European countries.

“We are proud to have significantly exceeded the EUR 250 million revenue mark in line with our 25th anniversary,” emphasizes Fritz Esterer, CEO of the WTS Group, while also highlighting that “the strategic partnership concluded in April with Europe's leading investment company EQT is a key step toward achieving our ambitious goals in the future.”

Jürgen Scholz, CEO of WTS Germany and Chairman of WTS Global, emphasizes: “We will continue to break new ground in order to build a European tax consulting champion with global reach in the coming years.”

WTS has consistently expanded its core business areas and grown by around 7% in its core area of tax consulting. Business developed particularly dynamically in high-end consulting areas such as tax consulting for the financial sector and at the interface between tax and technology. Here, WTS was able to leverage its digital expertise in a targeted manner and impress clients with its consulting services on Pillar II and the implementation of efficient and reliable tax reporting solutions. The indirect tax consulting field, including projects related to electronic invoicing, also recorded very positive development overall, which is reflected not least in the renewed award as “Indirect Tax Advisory Firm of the Year 2025” by the trade magazine International Tax Review.

WTS's technology-driven consulting approach is also evident in the development of innovative automation solutions for all tax disciplines. With plAIground, a product of the AI joint venture WTS PSP AI, WTS uses generative AI specifically to increase internal productivity. This combination of proprietary know-how and publishing expertise is also offered to tax departments and tax advisors. plAIground underwent significant further development in the past fiscal year, underscoring the company's innovative strength.

WTS has also specifically strengthened its personnel competencies in order to meet the increasing demands of financial administrations worldwide. With the addition of a highly specialized team from Baker McKenzie led by Dr. Thomas Schänzle and Florian Gimmler in the areas of corporate tax, international tax, and transfer pricing, consulting in these fields has been significantly strengthened.

At the end of the fiscal year, an international team led by Dennis Salomon also moved from Continental to WTS. It combines customs and green tax issues in an integrated consulting approach, thus responding to the challenges of an increasingly volatile trade policy that requires a deep understanding of customs processes and forward-looking, global consulting.
