CR REPORT
NEWS

Our responsibility for a sustainable future

We understand corporate responsibility as the consistent orientation of all our measures towards sustainable development. Our entrepreneurial activities are largely based on the four pillars of environment, social commitment, people and governance.

To to make our environmental and social performance measurable and improve it further by integrating ESG criteria, we are currently implementing suitable KPIs in the WTS for this purpose. Discover how we take responsibility and actively contribute to positive change.

Our path to zero emissions by 2050

Our path to net-zero by 2050: Climate protection is a key concern for WTS and is closely linked to our corporate values. That is why we are currently developing a transition plan on behalf of our Executive Board with the goal of achieving net-zero by 2050. This plan includes the goals, measures, and resources for the transition to a low-carbon economy, including measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions with a view to limiting global warming to 1.5 °C and achieving climate neutrality.

We are already implementing the first measures. For example, we prefer to rent low-emission properties, and we are making our travel activities more climate-friendly by increasingly relying on rail transport. Although our contribution is small in the global context, many small steps ultimately add up to something big. This is why we have already started our journey towards net zero.

Inside WTS
Our CR guiding principle
Together we are shaping a sustainable future. In doing so, we are taking on the responsibility of operating profitably in the long term from a social and ecological perspective. We see ourselves as a reliable and long-term partner for our clients, employees and our social environment.

Our four sustainability pillars

Our corporate principles are based on the four pillars of environment, social commitment, people and governance. Together with our employees, we are committed to environmental protection. As part of society, we are also involved beyond our core business, promoting social initiatives and integrating our employees. At WTS, the focus is on people. Our values-based corporate culture is crucial to our growth. For us, sustainable corporate management means long-term success in accordance with the law and ethical standards.

Pillar 1
Environment
We are aware of our responsibility to preserve and protect the environment and are actively committed to this together with our employees. Our planet has finite resources, so we want to minimize the environmental impact of our work and restore natural resources wherever possible.

Pillar 2
Social commitment
We see ourselves as part of our society. It is therefore essential for us to take responsibility for this - even beyond our core business. We not only support social and cultural initiatives, but also increasingly involve our employees. This is because we are convinced that community social engagement is not only effective, but also has a positive impact on our employees and the company as a whole.

Pillar 3
People
Our employees are at the forefront of WTS. We attach great importance to a strong employee focus and a value-based corporate culture. These two elements not only unite us, but are also crucial to our growth and future success.
What makes us special

Sustainable commitment: UN Global Compact and annual progress reports

To underline our sustainable efforts, we signed the UN Global Compact in 2020, thereby voluntarily committing ourselves to complying with minimum social and environmental standards. As part of this, we report annually on our progress in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption. In future, the UN Global Compact progress report will be published in the form of a questionnaire. This will provide us with another detailed form of reporting in parallel to our CR report, giving an insight into our developments.

We are also committed to promoting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, which will contribute to sustainable development globally by 2030.

Continuity and transparency
UN Global Compact Network

We see sustainability as a continuous journey that we have embarked on together. Step by step, we are working to make progress in order to have a positive impact on our stakeholders, society and sustainable development as a whole. You can find our UN Global Progress Report here:
