Klaus D. Hahne
Klaus D. Hahne is partner in the Asset Management & Financial Services department of WTS. He joined WTS in May 2019 from the international law firm Dechert LLP. At Dechert, Mr. Hahne was National Tax Partner and responsible for all German tax advisory issues. Prior to that, he worked as a Tax Counsel of the law firm Allen & Overy LLP in Frankfurt. Further stages of his career included various international accounting firms and HSH Nordbank AG (now: Hamburg Commercial Bank), where he spend three years as deputy head of the corporate tax department.
As essential part of his advisory practice at WTS, Klaus D. Hahne advises domestic and foreign clients with regard to German and international tax law issues. His practice focusses on advising fund initiators with regard to the structuring of investment funds as well as institutional investors in structuring their investments in domestic and foreign investment funds. In addition, he advises banks and financial services providers on the tax structuring of financial services and transactions, as well as on the VAT treatment of financial services and products.
As regular speaker on tax conferences and author of numerous specialist publications on various tax-related topics, Mr. Hahne regularly participates in the scholarly and practical debate of tax law issues, in particular in connection with his advisory practice at WTS.
