Automatic creation of CbCR Table I

Since the transitional CbCR safe harbour rules for Pillar Two and new requirements for a EU public CbCR have been announced, many companies have started critically assessing how their CbCR data is calculated. In addition to ensuring data quality, many companies strive to also reduce the time it takes to prepare the CbCR. Often, spreadsheets become more and more complex to merge data from different sources and calculate the values for the individual CbCR categories.

Data quality and time savings

An automated preparation of the data for Table I saves time in the CbCR creation process and increases data quality thanks to standardized plausibility checks and data validation steps.

The project

The project covered the analysis, optimization and automation of the processes to create CbCR Table I.

Challenge / initial situation
  • - Manual analysis of shareholding information as well as P&L and balance sheet data from various sources using Excel
  • - Manual consideration of adjustment amounts, e.g. for permanent establishments
  • - Repetitive execution of many individual work steps for a large number of companies
  • - Time-consuming updates in various files and spreadsheets in case of changes compared to the previous year
  • - Intransparent calculation files due to the combination of the CbCR calculation logic and various adjustments for permanent establishments and other corrections
  • - Insufficient data checks
Solution

- Merging of all relevant data and data preparation "at the push of a button"

- Automated calculation of the values for the different CbCR categories and transparent inclusion of the necessary adjustments

- Automated plausibility checks and review steps

- Output of the resulting CbCR Table I and audit files for all countries / companies in the desired format

- Visualization of key indicators for final plausibility checks and insights into the global distribution of essential KPIs
