In most companies, women are unfortunately still underrepresented in leadership positions and as a result a lot of valuable work is lost. Therefore, it is clear: The topic "women in leadership positions" and the visibility of women needs more attention - we are aware of this!
We can only agree with this statement by Ulrike Schellert. We are also firmly convinced that diverse project/work groups are more successful than uniform ones and make even better decisions.
Many studies show that companies characterized by a high degree of diversity have a greater probability of being more profitable than average. Diversity and inclusion are therefore much more than a nice-to-have. They are decisive factors for our joint success in the market.
With our open and appreciative corporate culture, in which diversity and equality have always been and still are an essential topic, we have now deliberately given this important topic of equality and visibility of women a stage and launched the NOW@WTS (NOW = Network of Women) initiative.
One of our most important tasks is to create more transparency and enable greater exchange. We therefore offer our employees various communication platforms, organize special events and seminars, and have developed a tailored mentoring program. We provide continuous and transparent information on current developments in the area of women's advancement and diversity.
We have set ourselves the goal of significantly increasing the number of women in the partnership and in the circle of directors. By 2030, we want to achieve a balanced ratio of women and men in management positions.
However, the focus is not on a "quota" itself but always on the success of WTS!
The NOW Café is a regular event for all employees of the WTS Group. As a fixed component of the NOW Café, there is a guest lecture by speakers from different areas and with different backgrounds on their experiences and assessments around topics such as equality and visibility of women in companies, inclusion or corporate culture.
All participants have the opportunity to ask the speakers questions and to discuss with them live.
NOWconnect is a networking event. Participants have the opportunity to get to know each other at our different locations.
The NOWconnect usually takes place after a NOW Café and is a perfect opportunity to exchange and discuss about the respective lecture.
In November 2021, the first seminar, the "Growth Mindset Workshop" was offered. This was developed in collaboration with HR Development. Further events on the topics of self-reflection, personal strengths, competencies, and developing a personal vision for one's next career steps are already in the planning stage.
The kick-off of the NOW mentoring program took place in February 2022. Selected participants are supported in their personal and professional development by experienced mentors at partner level. The one-year program consists of regular meetings between mentors and mentees as well as supporting programs and events with the opportunity to expand one's own network.
